The 2020 ILGU Scratch Cup Circuit schedule has been announced. The Circuit, which was introduced in 2012 to increase participation in the individual club scratch cups, will commence at Carlow Golf Club on Saturday March 7th where Aine Donegan (Lahinch) defends her title. Donegan, an Ireland Girls’ International, admits that the Circuit is the perfect way to re-introduce her game to a competitive environment while playing some of Ireland’s best courses.

“It’s a really good way to prepare for the season ahead and the bigger International events. Getting a score card in your hand early in the year is nice too, you can really see where your game is at.”

As one of the ILGU’s Horizon Performance Panellists, Donegans’ sights are set on preparing for the international stage, but with players up to a handicap of between 10 and 18 eligible to enter, and net prizes on offer, the Circuit caters for more than the countries elite.

Following the Carlow Scratch Cup, the Circuit travels to Woodbrook and Royal Portrush (Valley Course). Royal County Down, which will host the 2020 Irish Women’s Close Championship, Lahinch and Hermitage continue to host events as part of the Circuit while Ballybunion is a new addition this year. The Zara Bolton Trophy at the Dunluce course in Royal Portrush, previously held in April, will close the country wide tour at its new date in June.

Entry forms for each of the 36 hole events will be available HERE and results of each will be updated on the Monday following each scratch cup under the Scratch Cup Circuit Event Page.
