Mid West Ladies Golf Society held its Inaugural Golf Outing at Rathbane Golf Club on Sunday April 7. Despite the Baltic weather conditions and the clash of fixtures with the Munster Harlequins game, fifteen ladies braved the elements in what went on to be a terrific afternoon. Fun, Friendly, Sociable golf was the order of the day and this theme was certainly evident in the clubhouse afterwards.
The team of three 9 hole scramble was won by Norma Costelloe, Ann Sinnott and Kay Grimes. Prizes were generously sponsored by Harmony Health and Beauty at the George Boutique Hotel.[Caption: Barbara Hackett with prize winners]
The Mid West Ladies Golf Society is organised by Barbara Hackett, Golf Professional at Coonagh Driving Range. The society was launched to provide organised golf opportunities for women in the Mid West Region with the focus being on ‘fun, sociable, friendly’ golf where lady golfers of all levels are welcome particularly beginners.
Next month’s outing will be held at Dundrum House Golf Club on Sunday May 12th.
