Located in the South of Tenerife in Costa Adeje is the fabulous Sheraton La Caleta Resort & Spa. The resort is beautifully situated between the sea and the mountains. The wonderful climate of The Canary Islands makes it a very popular destination for Irish and UK tourists wanting to escape the long and dreary winters.
Rooms at the Sheraton La Caleta are luxurious and extremely comfortable, all have private terraces. You can request to use the Sheraton Club service and have access to a lounge, enjoy free drinks, snacks all day and breakfast served by the poolside.2 -1467_Sheraton_La_Caleta_Resort_&_Spa_Club_room_N15
The resort is perfect for golfers and for family holidays, there are subtropical gardens, a magnificent saltwater pool and two freshwater pools.
Relaxing on the fabulous sun loungers by the pool, enjoying poolside service, a G&T, a snack or a cocktail at the pool side bar. Heaven!
Food at the hotel restaurants is superb, there are four restaurants and two bars. Nothing better to start the day than  relaxing over  breakfast. The buffet breakfast at the El Parador restaurant is excellent, all food is freshly prepared. In the evening you can choose to dine in the El Parador or try out the Japanese Kamakura restaurant. The resort’s other restaurant  La Ventra serves the best Canarian and Spanish cuisine, the tapas are amazing.
If feeling energetic there is Gym or if you play tennis try out the new courts.
There is also a wellness centre with solarium, swimming pool and treatment rooms.

There are lovely walks along the seafront to the main shopping or in the other direction to La Caleta Village. We dined outside the hotel a few times, once to the little Italian restaurant and to Secret’s Tasca tapas bar, both are with five minutes walk from the hotel and both excellent. If you want to visit Las Americas for shopping there is a very good bus service and the stop is just a few minutes walk from the hotel.

There are plenty of great golf courses on the Island, close to the resort is Golf Costa Adeje. The course was designed integrating the natural characteristics of the area. The original wall stones from the former banana plantations located on grounds, were totally restored and added to the other original landmarks. As well as an 18hole course of par72 there is a nine a 9hole par 33.

A must play course on the island is the magnificent Abama course, it is expensive but worth every penny. There are lots of pine trees, lakes and water falls. The setting is unbelievably beautiful.

In the heart of the tourist area is Golf Las Americas, the course is just a short drive from the resort. Las Americas is parkland par 72 course, featuring lakes, streams and waterfalls all making it both idyllic and challenging. Although this course is on the suburbs of the busy tourist centre you wouldn’t know, it is so perfectly landscaped and views from some of the elevated tee boxes are stunning.

Golf Del Sur and Amerillo golf course are both close to the airport and are surrounded by holiday homes. There is a friendly atmosphere around the both club houses, many  golfers who play here have holiday homes close by. Golf del Sur has three nine holes, great for holiday golf with the family.

This was our third visit to Sheraton La Caleta and we have never been disappointed, the staff are warm and friendly, service is good. Once you are here you won’t want to stray too far and you will want to go back!
